Have you ever had a session you were EXTREMELY anxious to share but could not? Well this was that type of session for me. The phone rang and it was a number I did not recognize…I answered it and I am so glad that I did. Considering I had one bar oh wait then two bars of service [thank you AT&T] and I could not move, we were able to have a consultation and she advised me that she and her family had never had formal family portraits. Shut the front door was the first thought in my head! They had just had a baby girl a few months prior and they wanted to book a session and gift photos for Christmas. I was beyond excited and I wasn’t a part of the family!!
When the day arrived I was happy but at the same time a lovely cold front decided to come through our area and it was quite windy & chilly! We all made do and things went wonderful. Yes we were shivering at times but candid is what I love and so did she, so it worked out perfectly! At one moment big brother grabbed his sister’s hand to warm her up and I was able to capture that; it was such a sweet gesture and the signs of a true gentleman in the making. Her little guy is so precious!!! He is the sweetest little guy I have shot. From the moment that we met he was just posing and hamming it up for the camera as well as chatting it up with me! It was like we were long lost friends. I loved it! His personality is amazing and I cannot wait to see what kind of wonderful man he will grow up to be. Little Ms. Liv is just precious! She has the most amazingly, beautiful blue eyes. Seriously! Chris, good thing you currently workout using P90x because you better get ready now to fight the guys off in the future!! :D
Thank you both for trusting me to capture your first formal family portraits. It was and is truly an honor. You guys are wonderful and fantastic individuals and I enjoyed working with you. It is always great to met a client, work with them and walk away with new friends. The fact that your son literally got his booster chair so that he could leave with me simply melted my heart! ♥ The irony–we share an Alma mater, good ole’ SFA! Small world but I love it!

I hope that everyone had a wonderful Wednesday. I would like to end this post with a photo of my friend Ryane after she and her husband Jake were pronounced husband and wife. I love this shot and I had no idea she would do this but it was so her! If you know Ryane, you understand what I mean. :) She looked absolutely radiant–yes Ryane I will post more photos soon–and Jake looked very dapper; they are such a beautiful couple. Jake and his father’s vests are from Scotland–very beautiful and unique. Congratulations again guys!
I hope that everyone has a great Thursday! Be safe!

Ryane has been gorgeous since the day I met her. This photo is awesome!
Wow, I cannot believe that January is halfway over and I am just now making my first blog post. Don’t hate…I have been busy working on the new blog. I love the different format and the feel of the horizontal scrolling to view the photos/posts and you have to scroll down to read the post–different but me likey. Please let me know your feedback blog stalkers, friends and clients, it would be greatly appreciated. :)
I have spent the beginning part of 2011 getting this blog right and let me first give a shout out to technical support at Into The Darkroom. They helped me vamp this baby when I thought my Geek Squad self could do it on my own, although I almost did! It has been a learning experience for my IT skills and let me just tell you, I did not miss my calling!!! :D
2010 ended on a lovely note for me. I had a lot of family firsts and hearing their responses to their portraits were truly heartfelt. Thank you to all of you who entrusted me to capture your families, it was truly an honor. I will be blogging those sessions individually but I wanted to at least put a few images on the blog! I hope that 2011 is going great for everyone and that the year will be prosperous for us all. Oh and another thing, in the famous words of the character Barney Stinson, “CHALLENGE ACCEPTED!” I am accepting a blogging challenge that will challenge me to blog more and I could not be more excited about it! Something new I also want to try on the blog is Random Facts. Yeah I know, sounds a bit cheesy but I would like to share a random fact with you guys from time to time when I blog. So we will start today with Random Fact Number 1: I have not had professional photos taken of myself since my high school Senior portraits!!! Ha!! That will be a blog post in itself–the pictures are truly hilarious [not bad] just hilarious. It is amazing how the style of Senior photos have changed so dramatically in the past decade. :D
Until next time, I hope that everyone has a wonderful and terrific Tuesday!

Awww, look at that beautiful baby at the end! :)

That toddler baby is very handsome and super cute! I could just eat his cheeks up!!! What a beautiful little boy you have! Blessed to have been there for that moment! ♥

I am working on a ton bunch of different things at the moment but I could not help but write a quick post about my beach time and my session with The Griffin Family. They were on vacation around the same time as myself, in the same city–in a different state. Nor was it planned!! It worked out well; it was easier for them to find a photographer or ask a random stranger to take photos of their family. :) Tripp was awesome behind the lens. He would glance away without direction and it was awesome. Thanks for rocking that GQ pose for me! ;) As the song “Summer Breeze” [a hit by Seals and Crofts if you are wondering what song I am talking about] plays in my head and Autumn nears us, I am grateful for the beautiful yet hot & humid summer we had. As for now, I am sharing the GQ-esque photo of the lovely couple and heading to bed. It has been a long week and tomorrow is only Wednesday.

Good pic! How great that you were in the same place at the same time.
Oh my summer is rapidly passing us by but the heat and humidity still lingers–not complaining but ready for some beautiful foliage to appear. I have been enjoying some much needed beach time down-time so I am not worried about fall at the moment! ;-)
Before leaving for vacation, I had the pleasure of photographing the Boone family and it was a fun time. Nat is a true diva in the making!!! Lucy & James, I hope you are ready! Seriously–she was not happy with each pair of shoes that her mom picked for her to wear, but she loved her hot pink Crocs! She is hilarious, precious, unpredictable, a complete girly-girl as well as an outdoor girl and so much more. You two are lucky to have such an amazing little girl.
She was a little unhappy about the first few shoe choices…but that didn’t stop her from being a little loveable.
Now it was time to get out and about.

Of course I had to snap a few shots of the fabulous couple themselves! They were great and surprised me with a great capture.
And these two are my absolute favs! She was just making these expression and I loved it! What a doll!

Again, thank you guys for allowing me to capture these moments in your lives. I continue to wish your family the best, especially for it to grow! ;-) You truly have a beautiful family.
Until next guys, I hope everyone has a wonderful Friday tomorrow!

Aww, these are great! Natalie is a beautiful little girl. Looks just like Lucy!
-
Ro, you did an amazing job! Lucy & her family are so beautiful and you can tell they were super fun to work with. I want to squeeze Nat’s cheeks soooo bad! Wonder how often she hears that, lol!

I love how your blog scrolls, I’ve never seen one like this :) That 2nd shot is so sweet, great job! :)
Thank you!:) That was a totally candid shot, the whole session was pretty much. They were & are a wonderful family to work with. I revamped my blog this year and wanted something different, unique and me! Thank you for stopping by!!
I love the image of the little boy standing out in front and I LOVE the sun flare shots!
Thank you so much!! I love sun flare! As a fellow photographer [Kelsey Anderson] said, “If sun flare is wrong, I don’t want to be right!” :D
The lighting is absolutely gorgeous in these. What a sweet family…
